Mentoring Senior Executives

Senior leaders from manufacturing and construction industries
Mission:
Senior leaders in two different organizations found themselves in work situations that were not supportive of their personal missions or in the best interest of their families, due to excessive travel, stress levels, etc. Terri Weiland mentored each of these individuals as they explored career changes.
Strategies:
- Actively listened to the issues and concerns to help the executives clarify the problems. Helped identify ideal work environments and whether those conditions could exist in their current work environments.
- Encouraged clients to work with key family members and outside experts to get a sound picture of their financial situations.
- Encouraged and promoted involvement for their spouses in the decision-making process.
- Provided suggestions for networking and personal strength assessments.
- Helped hold clients accountable for setting goals and following through.
- Discussed strategies for assessing the climate and culture of any future employer to help ensure a good fit.
Results:
One executive left her former company and became a partner in a new firm. The other executive secured a new, highly desired senior position in another firm.
